Many have asked about me and Father Oliveira due to this terrible situation that is devastating our state, Rio Grande do Sul. I am well, thank God, sheltered in a safe place and helping people in whatever way I can. Father Oliveira is also well and working tirelessly to help the homeless. We thank everyone for their concern and prayers!
I asked him to write a message for those who are suffering, and he promptly wrote the following:
"Dear brothers and sisters of Rio Grande do Sul,
The time we are living through demands of us faith, hope, and above all, charity. Our kind Mother, out of Her love, has often warned our hearts about the difficult times that would come. Whether these difficult times are caused by ourselves or by natural disasters, now is the time to be saints. Now is the time to put into practice what She has so often asked of us. Her warnings and appeals would be meaningless if, faced with trials, we did not respond with faith, love, and hope.
Let us be strong, signs of hope and, above all, let us not be afraid! Ultimately, Her immaculate heart will always triumph!
Let us place our state in the Hands of the Virgin Mary. She and Her Divine Son, Our Lord, are with us, rescuing, sheltering, feeding, embracing, and weeping, through every person who, out of love for God and for their brothers and sisters, is acting in this moment! God bless you!"
